British Malayali Charity Foundation (BMCF): Regn No. 1150804:

Hi All,

It has been brought to our attention that some unfounded and malicious allegations are levelled against British Malayali Charity Foundation via social Medias in the form of videos and comments in Malayalam trying to tarnish the image and reputation of the foundation.

In this connection, we wish to inform the following:

British Malayali Charity Foundation has been formed in 2012 registered with Charity Commission (England & Wales) as per the vision  and initiative by the  free and fair journalist Mr. Shajan Skariah, the Chief Editor of ‘Marunadan Malayali’. This  has been running successfully last 13 years due to the overwhelming support and enormous & unwavering trust put upon in the foundation by the kind hearted people in UK.

The 15 of trustees are being elected in AGM and also has an advisory committee constiting of retired trustees and  a separate youth wing.  The trustees are working in compliance with the trustee declaration signed when appointing as  trustees stipulated by  charity commission and also as per the regulations & guidelines as an ‘essential trustee’ laid down  by the commission. Any trustees found to be non -compliant will be removed as per the  procedures and  as of now, no trustee has been found otherwise as per our information and knowledge. Also, we understand that Charity Commission has a system to monitor each and every trustee.

Our current trustees are from different parts of UK including solicitor, entrepreneurs, professionals such as nurses, managers and ordinary people . The trustees are working voluntarly without incurring a single penny as expenses to the charity finding out extra time from their day today life. Apart from this, the trustees and advisory members contribute a certain amount monthly as direct debit to BMCF’ and spending from their pockets to meet up other expenses.

As a matter of fact, we have been able to distribute over £ 1.65 million ( approx Rs 18.5 crores) to most deserving people such as who lost their loved ones in UK, having had life threatening diseases, children & most disadvantaged /unprevilleged families , nursing students, charity organisations in India & UK.

Unlike other charities in UK, we give 125% donations including 25% gift aid directly to the beneficiaries without any middleman.

Our inquiries and verifications are detailed and stringent inorder to find out most eligible applicants and also to ensure that  your donations are gone to the  right hands.

This is a public and transparent community charity and any adult, who lives in UK legally can become a member to take part in AGM to be elected to be a trustee with t&cs.
