BMCF Appeal Raises £10,000 for Family of Late Chinju in Boston
The British Malayali Charity Foundation (BMCF) has successfully raised £10,000 to support the family of Late Chinju, a theatre staff nurse at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, who tragically passed away shortly after giving birth to her fourth child.
Following an appeal launched in response to requests from Chinju’s family and the Boston Social Club, the British Malayali community came together with overwhelming generosity. Within just three days, nearly 400 donors contributed through KindLink and direct bank transfers, enabling BMCF to provide immediate financial assistance to the bereaved family.
The total amount of £10,000 was made up of:
- £7,680 raised through KindLink from around 400 donors.
- £1,141 received via direct bank transfers.
- £1,435 through Gift Aid.
- £13 contributed from the BMCF General Fund.
Chinju had moved to the UK around four years ago and was working as a Theatre Staff Nurse at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. She is survived by her husband, Emil Jose, and their four young children: Amelia (8), Antonio (6), Adriel (2), and newborn Anna Rose.
At just 34 years of age, Chinju passed away after giving birth to her youngest daughter, leaving behind a devastated family and a community united in grief.
BMCF extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who supported the appeal. This remarkable response reflects the compassion and solidarity of the British Malayali community during one of the family’s most difficult times. The funds will help provide immediate financial relief and support Emil and the children as they begin to rebuild their lives.
