Charity hand overs ‘Elsy appeal’ fund of £ 8000.00 at prayer service on 10thNovember in London
Charity received an overwhelming response from U.K malayalees by raising a total amount of £ 8204.50 out of which £ 7440.50 came through viriginmoneygiving including gift aid and rest of £765.00 directly into charity’s bank a/c. As always virginmoneygiving’s 3.5% commission of £ 220.00 deducted from this total and added another £ 14.50 from general fund to make the total figure to the tune of £ 8000.00.
Local malayalees and friends paid last tribute to Late Elsy Thomas on10th November at St. Teresa’s church at Redhill, London with a Holy Mass, which was attended by Syro Malabar Preston diocese vicar general Fr.SajiMalayailPuthenpurayil, who led the sacramental rites. Charity’s Ex Secretary Cimy George and Jt. Treasurer Afsal handed over the cheques Elsy’s husband Thomas Abraham on behalf of the charity. Many people from the social walks of life attended the homage ceremony. The remains will be repatriated to Kerala, India for the funeral at their local parish church.
Elsy Thomas belongs to Erumbil House, Koodallur, Kottayam died to cancer at the age of 51 on 31st October 2018. Her husband Thomas Abraham hails from Peedikapparambil, Kallara Kottayam district. They have three young children named Athul, Athulya& Akhil.
