Charity issues ‘Baiju Appeal’ to support the family and repatriation purpose of late Baiju, who dies at Catford, London
The charity has issued an appeal in response to an application received from the grieving family of late Thomas Joseph (Baiju), who passed away untimely due to illness at Catford, London on 14th February 2018. He is survived by his wife and two young children and hail from Pothi, Thalayolaparambu, Kottayam district in Kerala. The family was already struggling financially due to the employment/visa expenses and job changes. Apart from this, his wife’s employer’s sponsorship license was suspended even though she has the working visa until further 1 ½ years. They had to borrow an amount of £ 9000.00 from friends in the recent past to organise and pay for the renewal of their employment/family visa. Now, the family has no other choice but to leave the country along with two young children and their financial situation back at home also not sound enough to get on with their normal life. Baiju was only 43 years old and he was diagnosed with pancreas disease recently. The request to issue appeal received by charity from its well wishers also, which prompted trustees to take an immediate decision to proceed with the appeal. The recently concluded ‘New year Appeal’ assisted 11 families in Kerala, which was overwhelmingly supported by U.K malayalees and there was no immediate plan to go with any other regular appeal until the upcoming AGM on 24th March 2018. However, the plea of Baiju’s family & friends were considered by the trust t to support the family. The mortal remains of late Baiju is kept at hospital mortuary now for coroner’s confirmation and will be flown to Kerala to be buried at his local parish at St. Antony’s Church,
