Life Abundant Pentecostal Church in Leicester contributes £1,155 to support his wife and three-year-old daughter The British Malayali community has rallied around the family of Christopher, whose sudden death left his wife, Menaka Abraham, and their three-year-old daughter, Raylin, devastated. Following a four-day fundraising appeal, a total of £8,600 has been raised to support the grieving family, thanks to the generosity of British Malayali readers and other well-wishers.

A significant contribution came from the Life Abundant Pentecostal Church in Leicester, which donated £1,155 towards the appeal. Another generous supporter, known as Appappa, contributed £1,111, helping the fundraising effort reach its target.

The total raised through the appeal included £5,953 through KindLink, £896 in Gift Aid and £1,925 through bank transfers. After deducting the KindLink fee of £209 and adding a further £38 from the foundation’s general fund, the final amount reached £8,600.

A father’s dream cut short

Christopher had been eagerly looking forward to seeing his little daughter take her first steps into school. After years of waiting, he and Menaka had finally been blessed with a child, and watching her grow was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Tragically, the day he had been waiting for became a time of unimaginable sorrow for his family. Christopher passed away unexpectedly on the eve of his daughter’s first day at school, leaving behind a young child who will grow up without her father.

Christopher had lived in the UK for five years and had previously worked at Kayal Restaurant in Leicester. For the past three years, he had stepped away from employment to care for their daughter, Raylin, who was just three years old.

His wife, Menaka Abraham, works as a nurse at Leicester University Hospitals and had been supporting the family through her employment.

Christopher had lost his parents earlier in life and was brought up by his siblings. His wife, who is originally from Thiruvananthapuram, is now facing the heartbreaking challenge of raising their young daughter without her husband.

Known for his kindness, warmth and friendly smile, Christopher was loved by those who knew him. His sudden passing has deeply saddened his family, friends and the wider Malayali community in the UK.
