The Christmas and New Year Appeal fund of £ 8250.00 given to seven poor families in Kerala, India on Saturday 9th Feb 2019 at Gandhibhavan, Kollam. The brief hand over ceremony was organised during the Gandhibhavan International trusts legal clinic’s Adalat and legal awareness seminar, which was particularly noticed with the presence of Kerala High Court sitting judge Justice A. Muhamed Mustaque, who praised UK malayalees empathy and compassion to the people in Kerala and urged to stand by the truth and values. The meeting was presided over by Justice A.K Gopakumar, Pathanamthitta Thaluk legal services society’s Chairman and district judge.

Gandhibhavan Secretary Dr. Punalur Somarajan welcomed the distinguished guests and audience while Shahida Kamal, the member of Kerala State Womens Board was the chief guest. Several important personalities from the socio/legal background were also present in the meeting including the charity Foundation’s founding chairman Mr. Shajan Skariah.

The following seven families received the funds:

Jessy Josekutty from Kattappana in Idukki received £ 750.00 whereas the rest of six families receive £ 1250.00 each and this distribution amount reached on the basis of the severity of their diseases and also based on the overall financial situation of their family. Ouseph Lucka (Binoy) from Thalayolaparambu in Kottayam district of Kerala will get £ 1250.00 wherein a Parish priest will be donating one of his kidneys to him. Manoj Joseph, 39 years young man from Onamthuruth in Kottayam district,  George Thomas from Chemberi in Kannur district, 30 years old Neethu Sajith from Angamaly in Ernakulam district, 48 years Eldho from Wayanadu and four years old Sreeranjini from Kalavur in Alappbuzha district are the other families, who benefitted £ 1250.00 each from the appeal.
